Join Our Senior School

The main entry point for students in the Senior School is First Year.

We welcome Declarations of Interest throughout the year for Senior School with formal applications available for submission in October of the year your child is attending P6 (6th Class).

Should you wish your child to join us in any other year groups in the Senior School, or at other times of the year, this may also be feasible depending on availability.

Please note for 2025/26 1st, 2nd & 3rd Year are full.

REGISTERING FOR 1ST YEAR 2026:

Simply complete our Declaration of Interest Form and return by post or email to registrar@rathdownschool.ie

Rathdown Senior School welcomes Applications for the 2026 First Year intake from 1st October 2025.  This process is in line with the provisions of the new Admissions to School Act 2018 where schools around the country are expected to behave in a uniform manner and the new guideline dates are as follows:

• School will commence accepting Applications for admission – 1st October 2025 TBC
• Applications will close – 22nd October 2025 TBC
• Applicants notified in writing of the Schools decision – 12th November 2025 TBC
• Applicants confirm their acceptance by – 26th November 2025 TBC

Once a place has been offered, the parent / guardian has 14 days in which to accept the offer. To accept the offer €1,500 is payable immediately.

This €1,500 is non-refundable and non-transferable and secures the place. It will then be applied against the school tuition fee for the first year the child is in the school.

For existing students transferring from the junior school in Rathdown the non-refundable and non-transferable amount payable upon accepting a place in the senior school is €1,000.

REGISTERING FOR 1ST YEAR 2026 & ONWARDS:

Please complete the Declaration of Interest and return by email or post.  Formal Applications will be available in October prior to year of entry.

REGISTERING FOR 2nd - 5th YEAR

We make formal offers for all other year groups within the Senior School one year prior to entry. A letter of offer is issued and the parent / guardian has 14 days in which to accept the offer. To accept the offer €1,500 is payable immediately.

This €1,500 is non-refundable and non-transferable and secures the place. It will then be applied against the school tuition fee for the first year the child is in the school.

Applicants should not be dissuaded from contacting us outside these dates as there may be cancellations and/or deferrals of offered places.

2nd - 5th Year Declaration of Interest Form can be completed if interested in a potential place and return by post or email along to registrar@rathdownschool.ie

It is important to remember that if you have more than one child we require a separate registration form for each sibling.

Should you wish your son / daughter to join us in the Senior School at other times of the year, we are pleased to make individual arrangements for private visits where places may potentially be available.

Please note that for 2025/26 we are already full and have no places available in  1st, 2nd and 3rd Year.
