Join Our Senior School

The main entry point for girls in the Senior School is First Year.

We welcome Declarations of Interest throughout the year for Senior School with formal applications available for submission in October of the year your Daughter is attending P6 (6th Class).

Should you wish your daughter to join us in any other year groups in the Senior School, or at other times of the year, this may also be feasible depending on availability.

Senior School Registration

Although we would ordinarily like to invite you to visit us either on an Open Day, Taster Day or Private Visit unfortunately due to the Covid restrictions we are unable to offer this facility.  As an alternative we hope you will find the Virtual Tour of interest 

 

REGISTERING FOR 1ST YEAR 2021:

Simply complete our Application Form and return by post or email along with the Registration Fee which is payable either online through our website on the home page or by Bank Transfer

 

Rathdown Senior School welcomes Applications for the 2021 First Year intake from 1st October 2020.  This process is in line with the provisions of the new Admissions to School Act 2018 where schools around the country are expected to behave in a uniform manner and the new guideline dates are as follows:

  • School will commence accepting Applications for admission – 1st October 2020
  • Applications will close – 22nd October 2020
  • Applicants notified in writing of the Schools decision – 12th November 2020
  • Applicants confirm their acceptance by – 26th November 2020

A letter of offer is issued and requests a deposit of €500 to secure your child’s place. The deposit is not an additional charge but will be refunded after the pupil has left the School.  The deposit is not refundable in the case of an application which is later cancelled or withdrawn.

Applicants should not be dissuaded from contacting us outside these dates as there are often cancellations and/or deferrals of offered places.

Please complete the Declaration of Interest and return by email or post.  Formal Applications will be available in October prior to year of entry.

 

REGISTERING FOR 2nd - 5th YEAR

We make formal offers for all other year groups within the Senior School one year prior to entry. A letter of offer is issued and requests a deposit of €500 to secure your child’s place. The deposit is not an additional charge but will be refunded after the pupil has left the School. The deposit is not refundable in the case of an application which is later cancelled or withdrawn.

2nd - 5th Year Application Form - if interested please compete and return by post or email along with the Registration Fee which is payable either online through our website on the home page or by Bank Transfer

It is important to remember that if you have more than one child we require a separate registration form for each sibling.

Should you wish your daughter to join us in other year groups in the Senior School, or at other times of the year, we are pleased to make individual arrangements for private visits.

Boarding Registration Process

A student's name may be entered for admission to Rathdown School at any time for the Junior or Senior School, although early application is advised.

Ordinarily we recommend that all families come and visit the school for a tour of the school and boarding facilities however, due to Covid restrictions this is not currently possible as an alternative we hope you will find the Virtual Tour of the boarding facilities of interest. . Parents can express an interest in applying by completing the application form and paying the registration fee. This commits neither the applicant nor Rathdown School to anything other than a declaration of interest.
