Orla has been playing hockey for 10 years.  She plays for her own club Railway Union’s 2nd Team and of course for the Senior I’s in Rathdown.  Orla has achieved great successes in her hockey career so far, she was Captain of the U16’s 2009 Leinster Team and the Vice Captain of the Leinster U18’s in 2010.

Orla has enjoyed plenty of travels with her hockey from Limerick to Kilkenny, Banbridge, Belfast and as far as Holland and Barcelona!

Orlas most memorable experience was in Barcelona where she played for the U16’s Youth Nations Championships in Barcelona.  It was here she scored against Ukraine to win the match 4-0!  One of Orla’s most memorable goals was the corner scored against Muckross in the cup game to equalise 2-2.

Orla hopes to play for the Irish U18’s in the Youth Nations Championships in Holland this year.  When asked what advice she would give to any players in the School on how to achieve their dreams in sport she said “Enjoy it, persistence and hard work is the key to success”
