Rathdown prides itself as a very successful athletic school. Rathdown has dominated the East Leinster Athletics Championships over the years and has retained the trophy for Best Overall School for the last nine years.
While the Girls compete most successfully in the East Leinster Championships, many qualify to participate in the Leinster Schools Championships and then onto the prestigious All Ireland Schools Championships.
Rathdown has a long record of excellent achievements in these competitions and national medals have been won in the various disciplines. The schools’ success can be attributed to the excellent athletic facilities along with the highly qualified coaches.
