Happy New Year, China! The Year of the Tiger With the Chinese New Year coming up this weekend, the girls in P2 have been leading our morning assemblies all week. On Monday, they told us how important this holiday is to the Chinese people and how families celebrate the New Year festivities. They all dressed in traditional Chinese clothes each day and even made up their faces! They sang a lovely song called Gung Hay Fat Choy, a song that wishes everyone good fortune and happiness. On Tuesday, they performed a beautiful traditional fan dance. On Wednesday, a Chinese dragon appeared in the Hall. The Dragon dance captivated everyone. On Thursday, we learned even more about China with a very interesting Did you know? session, where the girls shared all that they have been learning about China in class. Our week ended with everyone singing the Chinese New Year song and each student in the school receiving a fortune cookie. The P2 class performed the fan dance again and the Chinese dragon made another appearance. Well done to all the students in P2 and to their teacher, Ms. Jack.
