Ancient Romans v Ancient Chinese "Bush tucker" Trail
The Classics and History Department cooked up a "classic" battle when TY Students were given the chance to sample ancient food blindfolded! Delicacies such as swan's eggs (stuffed) sand worms and sheep's eyes (melon balls dipped in fish sauce) were tasted as students, dressed as Ancient Romans or Chinese, competed to defeat the others in a "bush tucker" trail. Besides the "horrible" tastings, the girls also had a feast of more palatable Roman and Chinese cuisine including pancakes with honey, olive bread, humous, grapes, wanton, spring rolls and chili dips. By the way, victory for cast-iron stomachs went to the Ancient Chinese!
