Dear Parent,
Rathdown School is delighted to be able to offer Digital Cre8or classes and accreditation to you. Digital Cre8or is an exciting new course to help people capture, edit and share digital media. In our modern lives we are surrounded by digital media, we almost all have camera phones, digital cameras and other devices. This course is designed to give you the skills to capture better photos and movies, create professional looking and memorable pieces of work, and then share these creations with friends, family and loved ones online. The course is aimed at beginners, and will take you from first steps right through to advanced levels over the course of 24 lessons. The Digital Cre8or course is accredited by IADT, and is being taught in Rathdown as a module in Transition Year.
The course is being broken into four modules, as follows:
Digital Audio Understanding digital audio concepts and how they affect what the end user hears
Digital Still Images Understanding, capturing and manipulating still Images
Digital Video Capturing and manipulating digital video
Sharing on the Internet Candidates learn how to make their digital media projects available over the Internet. Skills covered in the module include embedding media projects in Web pages; linking to media projects and understanding how to make projects easily accessible to web users.
There are no prerequisites aside from enthusiasm and willingness to learn. If you have some of your own clips and snaps then all the better. All the training takes place in our modern computer facilities and refreshments are provided each week. We will begin classes in mid-October and run till the end of the school year. Classes will take place on a Monday evening for two hours, with a refreshment break.
The cost of the course is €340 per person and covers all costs. Further information and a brochure can be downloaded here. To book a place on the course please email communications@rathdownschool.ie Depending on sufficient numbers the course will start on Monday 12th of October.
Yours sincerely
Barbara Ennis Principal
