Leaving Certificate Results 2009

Well done and congratulations to the Leaving Certificate Class of 2009, their parents and teachers on this year’s outstanding Leaving Certificate results.

26% achieved 500 points or more
69% achieved 450 points or more
90% achieved 400 points or more

The class averaged a wonderful 434 points per student - a remarkable academic achievement.

I commend all the students on their individual achievements, regardless of their academic ability.  I am very proud of the girls’ endeavours and of the results that they have attained.

Staff, students and parents have worked extremely well together to create the opportunity for such an excellent examination results profile.  There is no substitute for great teaching in the classroom aligned with a strong work ethic from the girls. I wish them every success in their future careers.

For the girls, the Leaving Certificate marks the end of their time in Rathdown, but hopefully also the continuation of a long connection with the School through the Alumnae Association. We are looking forward to seeing the girls in all their finery on Thursday 24th in the School for their debs reception.

May I take this opportunity to thank the parents of the Class of 2009 for their commitment, support and loyalty to Rathdown over the years of their daughters’ involvement with the School, and I hope that we will not lose touch!
