Rathdown School's Masterplan As a leading school in Ireland, it is extremely important to the entire Rathdown community for us to have a strong and exciting vision of our future. After a great deal of research, consultation and planning, earlier in 2007, Rathdown presented a Vision document to our community and were delighted to receive positive comments and suggestions. Our vision was created from the hopes and desires of students, parents, teachers, members of the Board of Management and Board of Governors and other key stakeholders. This gave rise to a Masterplan for the development of the campus with the initial projects being:
1. The enhancement and renewal the Academic Facilities in the Senior School to improve the provision in the three Sciences, History, Geography, Art, Home Economics and Special Needs
2. The enhancement and renewal of the Indoor facilities for Physical Education & Development
3. The enhancement of public spaces for the School community and relaxation areas for the girls
4. The improvement of the Outdoor facilities and support for Physical Education & Development
In December 2009 the School submitted to Dun Laoghaire and Rathdown Council a plan for additional Academic facilities and renewal of existing buildings to meet the objectives 1, 2 and 3 above. The School awaits a decision on this submission. Plans are being prepared in relation to objective 4.
