Sports Day 2012!

Sports Day was another terrific event on the Rathdown School calendar last Saturday! It was our first joint Sports Day, where the Junior School held their activities from 9.00-12.00pm and the Senior School from 10.30-2.00pm. Parents and students enjoyed a lovely barbecue lunch and the younger students played on the bouncy castles and had their faces and nails painted. It was a most enjoyable day for everyone, no doubt helped by the fact that the sun shone all day too! Thank you to everyone involved in making the day such a success- PE staff, teachers, office staff and maintenance men. Congratulations to our entire medal and cup winners and also to Dalkey for winning the House Cup this year. Well done to all the students for making it a very memorable day!

Sailing to Success!

Congratulations Rachel Eggers in P5! Last weekend, Rachel qualified for the Under 12s Irish Sailing team at the trials in Waterford. Rachel is a member of the Royal St. George Sailing Club. This is a great accomplishment and we are all very proud of Rachel.

Firework Fantasy!

What a show! What a talented group of boys and girls we have in Rathdown! Well done to all the Junior School students for performing a wonderful variety of musical items on Thursday night. In a packed gym, the girls and boys sang songs, played instruments, recited poems, performed a play and danced their hearts out on the new school stage. They all joined together for a rousing finale by singing Firework! Many thanks to Ms. Callaghan, Mrs. Mc Gloughlin, Ms. Stamper, all the Junior School teachers and staff and the Music School teachers too for all their expertise and hard work in making the evening such a success. Well done, everyone!
