Well done to all involved in making Rathdown’s first MAD (Music Arts and Drama) Week such a success. There were live performances in assembly and at lunchtime by students and staff and an exhibition of new artwork in the Hub.
The highlight of the week was a Choral competition held on Wednesday. This brought together the whole Senior School for a great morning of choral singing. Form groups from First to Third Year and Year Groups from TY to 6th Year performed their own arrangements of the songs they had chosen for the competition. They each chose their own conductor and accompanists, and also took responsibility for their rehearsals over the previous weeks – all valuable life skills!
Congratulations to all those who received prizes. 3G won best Junior Choir and 5th Year won the prize for best Senior Choir. Thanks to Ms Jordan, Ms Clarke and Ms Rice for all their preparation in advance, and to all the girls who performed on the day. Thanks also to our guest adjudicator Tony Norton, who provided some very encouraging feedback for the choirs, and even sang an Italian aria for us!
